Our current focus of attention is on the development of "enhanced" drivers licences (EDLs) by many provinces in advance of new US border crossing requirements coming into effect June 1, 2009.
Organized with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, the Consumers Council of Canada, the Council of Canadians, the Information Policy Research Program of the Faculty of Information – University of Toronto and the International Civil Liberties Monitoring Group, we held
- National public forum on “enhanced” drivers licences, privacy and state surveillance under the new Canada-U.S. border regime on March 24, 2009
- Forum national public sur les permis de conduire « plus », la vie privée et la surveillance étatique aux termes du nouveau régime frontalier Canada É.U. , le mardi 24 mars 2009 de 9 h à 12 h 15
